Following an automobile accident involving an uninsured motorist, wherein Theodore Van Tassel was injured, an action was brought in the Washington County District Court by May Van Tassel, Beltram Van Tassel, and Beltram Van Tassel, as father and natural guardian of Theodore Van Tassel, a minor, for a declaratory judgment establishing the extent of coverage afforded plaintiffs with respect to the accident under uninsured-motorist provisions of policies issued by defendant to plaintiffs May and Beltram Van Tassel. An arbitrator fixed the minor plaintiff's damages at $21,000 and his father's derivative damages at $12,000. On the basis of stipulated facts, the court, William T. Johnson, Judge, ordered judgment for plaintiffs against defendant for the full amount of these awards, and defendant appealed from the judgment entered. AUTHOR: KNUTSON
